As many of you know, we used (and loved) All About Spelling (affiliate link) for years! We often supplemented the work we did in this program with spelling games and activities. The spelling book introduced words in a logical step-by-step manner. This set of Long O activities helps kids review lessons from different books/levels (more about that below).
It’s been on my to-do list for a very long time to create another Spelling Packet to add to our Spelling Bundle! I’m so happy to be sharing it with you (finally!!) This new Long O Spelling Packet includes words sort activities and board games for practicing these spellings.
My kids always loved playing spelling bingo. They would beg to play “just one more round!” They would win if they covered one or two rows (then we would play a new round). There are 8 bingo cards included.
This new packet is 30 pages. It has been added to the Spelling BUNDLE. (If you need me to send me your link again, feel free to email me!) See more about the Spelling Bundle here or scroll down below for more details. Our packets are PDF digital downloads.
If you have any questions or need any help, feel free to email me! ~Liesl
Long O Sound Spelling Packet
More about ALL ABOUT SPELLING (affiliate link) As many of you know, we used All About Spelling for years! We loved this program and it worked SO well for all three of my kids. They all made their way through the entire series!
The All About Spelling series covers the Long O sound, but it is spread throughout the series which is why we used spelling sorts, games and activities to review these rules. For example, silent E is introduced in Level 2. The OA and OW vowel teams (for the long o sound) are introduced in Level 3 and the OE vowel team is covered in Level 4.
I’ll put a picture of that in for those who aren’t familiar with AAS. During the first couple of years of the program all of my kids loved using the tiles you see on the board below. This program is really laid out logically and helped ME understand how words are put together and why! Eight thumbs up from the Homeschool Den (me and the 3 kids!!)
