More Landform Pages Added to the World Facts Packet
This is just a quick note to let you all know that I added in a few more pages to the World Facts Packet. This packet is now well over 125 pages!
When we start off the new school year, I want the kids to go over some basic world facts again. Do they remember…
- What are the four largest countries? (Russia, Canada, the U.S.A., China)
- What countries have the most people? (China, India, the U.S.A.)
- What are the world’s largest cities? (Tokyo, Jakarta, Seoul)
- Which countries have the longest life expectancy? (Monaco, Macau, Japan)
- What are the major religions?
The packet has information about population growth. When did the world hit 1 billion, 2, billion, 3 billion… up to its current 7+billion population size? The kids have to sort the dates and will see how while we reached a population of 1 billion in 1804, we quickly grew from 4 billion (1974), 5 billion (1987), 6 billion (1999) and 7 billion in 2011 and 7.8 billion in 2021!
These new pages are for learning about landform terms such as strait, isthmus, canyon, peninsula and so forth. One page can be used with younger kids – it has words to trace and small pictures kids can color. Another is an identify the landform worksheet and there are also two options that can be used for interactive notebooks/lapbooks if your family enjoys making those (one colored option and one black/white).
As you probably know, just a few weeks ago I had added an entirely new section (about 50 pages) to the World Facts Packet. We’ve made our way through all of those activities, but I just wanted to make sure my youngest was completely comfortable with those terms before we move on to other activities.
I had planned on increasing the price at the end of January, but was dragging my feet until I added these new pages. I’ll keep the price the same for another week or so. 🙂
Note: If you purchased this packet already, you should have gotten an email from SendOwl, the delivery service I use with the link to the updated file. If you have any trouble or can’t find that email, just contact me! ~Liesl
My kids really love puzzles and I thought I would also mention that after we spent time on the World Landmarks games and activities (see the picture above of the bingo games and matching page) I had them do a Ravensburger World Landmarks Puzzle. Our World Facts Packet is now 125+ pages (including answer pages). This packet is $6.99.
