Music Curriculum for Beginners
Beginner’s Music Curriculum: Learning Notes, Rhythm, Music Notation and More!
Our Music Curriculum for Beginners just got a huge update! I have added in more than 100 pages of worksheets, games and activities. Our Music Curriculum Packets provide everything you need to introduce your kids to the basics of music from reading notes, learning to play notes on a keyboard or piano, to learning what many of the music symbols mean!
There is a week-by-week plan and you can check out the Free Overview PDF – Music Curriculum for Beginners by clicking on that link. Feel free to use our basic plan or purchase our entire Music Curriculum including all the worksheets, games and activities with the link below.
I created this Elementary Music Curriculum when my kids were about 7 and 9 years old. I wanted a fun, interactive curriculum that would keep them engaged while learning to read treble and bass clef notes on the staff and to learn to find those same notes on a keyboard. They also learned the basic music symbols through hands-on activities and games!
Recently, I spent time adding in lots of new games and activities!
If you would like to purchase the full 200+ page curriculum, you can purchase it with the “Add to Cart” button below. Let me share more pictures and details of what is included!
Each week comes with an overview page of the activities, games and worksheets that can be used for that week:
There is an entire PDF of music games and activities. Here are some examples. The PDF of music activities is more than 100 pages!
Introduction to Music: Music Curriculum Worksheets – These cover whole notes, half notes, quarter notes, eighth notes, treble and bass clefs, the staff, octaves and so forth. There are alternative worksheets if your kids use the terms semi-breve, minim, crotchet, quaver, etc.
We started with some activities where the kids began to learn how to read music and how to play those same notes on a keyboard, piano or xylophone. We played lots of activities. I also have some worksheets that build on what they are learning each week. I’ll show you some examples down below.
