Hi! Welcome to our new homeschool blog. I’ll leave these first few pictures here for the firstmonth or so — scroll on down to see if we’veadded anything new. I thought I’d first post a couple of picturesfrom our area of the world. Pictured belowis a Ghost Gum Tree. We drive off road alot and go hiking, looking for rocks andkangaroo bones (one of LD’s favoriteactivities!)
We go to the local Reptile Centre fairly often (once a monthor so). Here’s a picture of a bearded dragon. We once hadone of these peer into our sliding glass door! This one is probablyabout 25 centimeters long or 10 inches.
We have unique things to do here in our town. I took this picture at the Camel Cup Races in June.
Here we are feeding the wallabies. If you look closely, you can see a little joey poking its head out of the Mama Wallaby’s pouch. Every now and then we’ll post more pictures of our area — but not today! Now on to some of our homeschool activities!
JULY’S POSTINGS ARE ALL PRESCHOOL AND TODDLER RELATED! I have a clear plastic file box (actually now I have two-goingon three!) filled with all kinds of preschool activities. Matching foam itemsPracticing Buttoning (I sewed the green felt strips andbuttons onto the blue felt backing.) I don’t remember where I sawthis idea. If you’ve seen this on another blog let me know and I’llprovide the link for others. Straw pieces on plastic string (or pipe cleaners)
I have a bag of colored strips and scissors prepared andready to go. You can also put lines on the strips. Add in a glue stick and paper plate and you’ve got amosaic project!

have a water color set and doilies (or paper)ready to go in the preschool box. It’s relativelymess free so I don’t mind setting it up most anytime. I made a felt bear board for the preschool box. Muffin cups and clothes pins, matching by color
