Types of Scientists Worksheets
What kinds of careers do scientists have? Grab this new packet! It’s currently free!
There are many different types of scientists who hold many different types of jobs. Science can be broken down into three main branches: life science, physical science, and earth science. These are known as the natural sciences.
There are many different areas of study within each branch. Can your kids identify a few of the major types of scientists and the kind of work they do?
- Zoologist
- Marine Biologist
- Botanist
- Geologist
- Astronomer
- Physicist
- Chemist
These worksheets go over a few occupations scientists can hold in each of the three branches of natural science. They also include some of the occupations those who study the applied sciences can hold.
This Types of Scientists packet is currently free! I have also added it to the Earth Science Bundle of 5 and Earth Science Bundle of 10. 🙂

How do we know what science units to cover from year to year? I created a Homeschool Science Unit Checklist for Elementary and Middle School that I think about as we move from unit to unit. I have a general goal of what I’d like for the kids to have covered K to 8, but we’re also flexible and go off on tangents when it’s warranted! It many of the units we hope to cover in elementary and middle school.
