Skeletal System Unit

I have just made huge update to the Skeletal System Packet!! I added more than 50 pages, so the Skeletal System Unit is now more than 90 pages!

In the last few weeks, I made a whole new set of skeletal system worksheets and notebook pages:

Skeletal System Worksheets and Notebook PagesMy daughter has been learning the bones of the body and going over many of the facts about the skeletal system from the function of the skeletal system and the basics about bone anatomy to broken bones (complete/incomplete, open/closed, etc.), bone repair, and bone diseases. She also learned about cartilage and ligaments as well as learning about the different types joints (hinge, pivot, saddle, condyloid, ball-and-socket, plane/gliding).

My daughter really enjoys having booklets these days, but I know those might be a pain to put together if you don’t have a spiral binder. 😊  So, I have included two styles: Skeletal System Booklet, Skeletal System Notebook Pages.

Here is a picture of the Skeletal System Booklet. There is both a student-style book with fill-in-the-blank pages and a teacher/answer set of pages that have all the answers.

To make this, you will print out the pages one-sided, fold them in half, and then bind the stack together along the left side.

Skeletal System Worksheets: Since you may not want have a spiral-binder or might just prefer regular notebook pages, I have included those as well. They print out on regular sized paper. Again, they are fill-in-the-blank pages and also include the teacher/answer pages.

Skeletal System Unit - Worksheets Notebook PagesBones of the Body Worksheets: My daughter started out this unit by reviewing the bones of the body.  I made several matching pages that she did over the course of the unit:

Skeletal System WorksheetsMany years ago, my kids watched a video made by Science With Me that really helped them remember all the bones of the body. Although the quality of the video isn’t that great, my daughter watched it FOUR times in a row (and made her Sis come watch it too)! It’s catchy & they loved the rhymes.  If you don’t celebrate Halloween, it may not be for your family, but my kids loved it and it really helped them remember all the bones of the body. 🙂
