My girls love drawing! Today I’m going to share an art packet I made for them to work on this summer (though truth be told, they’ve already finished half the projects!!).
Many household items were very ornate a hundred+ years ago. Many of the projects in this packet ask the kids to design a fancy item they might find around the house. The kids were pretty surprised by the look of these vintage scissors!!
There are also some pages for them to write down which book they are reading, the author, and what the book is about.
It includes some art project ideas… things that we often don’t make time for… things like weaving, making pony-bead animals, painting and working with oil pastels.
This packet is currently FREE to download!! Let me know if your kids enjoy the projects in this packet! ~Liesl

I also got the kids a really fun, creative journal called Journal Sparks: Fire Up Your Creativity with Spontaneous Art, Wild Writing, and Inventive Thinking. (affiliate link) It is such a neat collection of activity ideas!! It’s perfect for the pre-teen crowd (my girls are 9 and 11) — even I would have fun with some of these activities! Highly recommended for those long, hot summer days!
That’s about it for today! Hope you’re enjoying your summer (if you’re up here in the Northern Hemisphere, that is!)

P.S. Our store is getting a bit of a make-over. Hooray! I can’t tell you how many people have asked me if there was a way to purchase more than one item at a time. Since I run this blog on my own and always super busy juggling our homeschooling (and homeschool planning), outside activities, and work on the website/business… it has taken a long time to get to this! (Sheepish grin here!)
You can pop over to check out our store here:
