Programming Websites for Kids

This is a very quick post with some websites that someone else recommended for kids who are interested in learning computer programming.  We are (hoping) to incorporate some computer programming into our homeschool this year, so we’ll be checking these out in the coming months:

  • TechRocket.com
  • YouthDigital. com
  • Tynker.com
  • CodeAcademy.com
  • Khan Academy Intro to Javascript

We also have Super Scratch Programming Adventure (affiliate link) that a friend recommended, but we have yet to use it. We’ll try to leave some better reviews about these resources once we’ve delved into it a bit more.  🙂

These were some of the resources I had rounded up, but luckily for me Hubby is teaching the kids about computers and computer programming. It’s just not my area of expertise.   The kids and Hubby work together twice a week on Mondays and Wednesdays after he gets home from work. 🙂

I thought I would add this in… The kids have loved their “computer class” with Dad.  He bought a board game to play with them called Code Master Programming Logic Game. (affiliate link) In this game, the kids have to go step-by-step to make a program work. Since it was a big hit, I thought I’d mention this as well! 🙂
