Irregular Verb Practice and Plural Nouns (Free Grammar Worksheets)
A week or so ago, we started reviewing irregular verbs and the plurals of nouns again. I realized the kids could use a bit more practice, so I pulled out some of the old grammar worksheets I made several years ago and had them work on those as well. I thought I would put all three of these together here in the same post for anyone who might need to review this as well! 🙂
The one the kids did last week has a lot of words where you have to change the y to i and add your ending
Free Grammar Practice Sheets: Plurals, Endings, Past Tense Verbs
These worksheets have the kids use some irregular verbs (i.e. bite/bit, break/broke). We also went over some of rules for forming plurals (changing the f to v — knife/knives, words ending in -ey monkey/monkeys, words ending in -io radio/radios, and so forth).

The kids needed a bit more practice so these sheets are similar to the ones above. 🙂
In addition to our free grammar worksheets, we have also been using the Write Source Skills Books for years. They provide some basic grammar rules and are straight forward. I have found that I need to supplement these (with our own sheets) as I spot problems in their writing, but I’m quite happy with these, especially at the price (below $10). Amazon carries them and here a link to one of the books, Write Source: Skillbook Grade 5, (affiliate link). ED is finishing up the Grade 2 Skillsbook: Write source Skills Book (affiliate link).
The other book that we have used in the past year or so are the Editor in Chief® books by the Critical Thinking Company. (affiliate link). I really like these books because they have a short paragraph and tell the kids exactly what kind and how many errors to look for. And, these books, unlike the SkillsBook above provide the answers in the back so the kids can check their own work.
