Patriotic Themed Math Games

We are only doing a light amount of school work at the moment, but I want to keep some of their math facts and skills fresh.  Here are some math games I made to play with the kids. I made them in a patriotic theme since next Thursday is Independence Day, the 4th of July.

My youngest is practicing doubling (1+1, 2+2, etc.). My other daughter is practicing squares (3×3, 7×7, etc.) and my son is reviewing some fraction skills (addition, multiplication, etc.) You can either play a quiet game of “math survivor” inside, hide some cards outdoors for a scavenger hunt or play math freeze tag!!

Survivor Math Game: Place the game between you and a partner. Place 2 tokens in front of you.  Take turns rolling the die and taking the other person’s token. For example, in the game of doubles if I roll a 4, then I take a token from the 8 on my opponent’s side. She then rolls (6) and takes a token from the 12 on my side. Whoever has a token left wins the game.

There are also a couple pages so my youngest can practice, “what comes between.” I plan to cut these into strips before she does these.
