Bear Lapbook

Bear Lapbook PreKI made this bear lapbook with/for DD a while back. Since we’re talking about forest animals, it was time to bring it out in the workboxes again. The girls have both had fun with it (even LD has had a couple of goes).

It contains a number of different little activities. As you can see from the lapbook cover, DD made her own little pom-pom bear. Then we used the trimmings from that to glue onto the bear for inside her labpook (see the picture below.)

The front cover is from Jan Brett’s website: Bear Mask pdf.

There is a section in the lapbook where the kids have to put the colored bear in the proper colored cave. Other activities include looking at different kind of bears on flip cards, sorting by sizes, and everybody’s favorite section–a “feed the bear its food” (picture on the right below)!

Bear Activities Lapbook PreKYou kids might like the stories about Bear and his friends – mouse, hare, badger, gopher, mole, wren, raven who all gather in Bear’s cave while he is hibernating.  This is called Bear Snores On (affiliate link):

Bear Snores OnAnother book by the same author, Bear Wants More (affiliate link), shows how much Bear eats after waking up from his long hibernation.

Bear Wants MoreI made a packet of materials similar to the ones you see in our lapbook above. It is free to download and print out! Hope it’s useful! ~Liesl

Love it, especially the way you remembered to pull it out again.
